The Holiday Season contains numerous dinners, spending time with family and shopping. The Moberly Area has some great holiday traditions and festivities that any local or visitor should not miss out on. Let us come and show you everything that Moberly has to offer during the Holiday’s.

To get a head start on Christmas shopping you will want to make a stop at the 41st Annual Craft and Gift Show at the Moberly Area Community College Activity Center on November 9th and 10th. This event will have over 50 vendors from in and out of the state of Missouri showcasing their items. Admission is $2. On Friday, the event will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday the show will go from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. For questions call 660-277-4712.

Two local traditions on Thanksgiving Day are the YMCA Turkey Trot and the Goodwill Thanksgiving Dinner. The turkey trot will start at 8:00 a.m. that morning on the 500 block of Reed Street. Register by calling 263-3600. After you are done with the Turkey Trot head over to volunteer or enjoy the meal at the Annual Community Goodwill Thanksgiving Dinner. Live like a local and do something completely different from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Zion Lutheran Church.

Every Monday, following Thanksgiving is the Moberly Christmas parade. This year it will be held on November 26th at 6:00 p.m. on Historic Reed Street. The parade is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season and get everyone in good spirits. A few surprises might be in store for all those that attend.  This year the parade will also offer prizes for the parade entries. Make sure you get registered to be in the parade soon for a chance to win some Christmas shopping cash.

Another one of Moberly’s long-standing traditions is Living Windows. This is where Downtown businesses will make their storefronts come alive and re-enact holiday scenes. Living Windows will take place on December 6th at 5:30 p.m.

Want some entertainment for your holiday season? Moberly Area Council on Arts has this covered on Friday, December 8th showcasing the Magic of Christmas Holiday Spectacular. We recommend bringing your whole family to this event to hear some festive holiday music. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. and tickets are $10 for adults. Students are free.
