Moberly Parks and Recreation held a ribbon cutting on Monday, April 17 at 2pm at Rothwell Lake.
 
The ribbon cutting was celebrating the new fishing dock that was unveiled. The Dick Boots family donated $1 for every dollar fundraised for the project totaling over $8,000 in donations. It was matched by public donors for a total contribution of $16,000.

Moberly Parks and Recreation Director, Troy Bock spoke about Boots and his contribution to Moberly Parks and Recreation that helped shaped the park for future generations.
Afterwards, Boots’ son and wife spoke about how much Boots loved Rothwell Park and his contributions to the community.
 
Then, the ribbon was cut by the family.
Dick Boots served on the Park Board from 1991-2000 and was a member of the Moberly City Council from 2001-2012, 2013-2015.
