Randolph County is rich in educational opportunities. From the smaller rural public schools located in Cairo, Higbee, Huntsville, and Renick to the larger Moberly Public School System with approximately 2,300 students within seven buildings. The Moberly Area Technical Center is part of the Moberly Public School System where area high school students as well as adults have the opportunity to learn trade skills. St. Pius X Parochial and Maranatha Adventist are private K-8 schools that are also located in Moberly.
Moberly Area Community College”
Moberly Area Community College was founded in 1927 and today is a thriving, growing campus located at the west end of Rollins Street on College Avenue. MACC offers both day and evening classes as well as online and hybrid courses and dual credit in the area high schools. There are many non-traditional students that attend MACC to take advantage of the many excellent training programs. MACC emphasizes a low student to teacher ratio, individualized attention, and respect for the rich diversity of students served. MACC operates campuses in Moberly, Hannibal, Kirksville, Mexico, Columbia, and Edina with a total enrollment of approximately 5400.
Students wishing to complete their four-year degree at MACC may take advantage of the “Plus Two” partnership with Columbia College, begun in 1996. A quality education coupled with convenient, flexible scheduling allows students to earn a degree with Columbia College, on campus or online.

Central Christian College of the Bible, established in 1957, exists to develop servant leaders for the church by providing a Bible-centered higher education, promoting deeper spiritual lives, preparing dynamic communicators of the Gospel, and producing disciple-makers for the nations. Central’s campus is located on 40 acres in the southeastern part of Moberly on Urbandale (Route M). All students attending Central Christian College who are enrolled in a degree program, are awarded full tuition scholarships. Central’s student body is diverse and has increased greatly since this program was instituted.

Merrell University of Beauty Arts and Science is a post secondary school providing education in arts and sciences of cosmetology and esthetics. The school is dedicated to “professional excellence” enabling graduates to be highly competitive in the job market. Instructors are licensed by the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology and continuously keep abreast with the new trends and products through educational seminars and workshops.
Numerous preschools are available in the area to help prepare children for Kindergarten. There are several church affiliated programs and some private preschools. Part day and full day programs are available depending on the facility.
